Hi I'm Kasieโ
One of my earliest memories after immigrating here is standing beside my parents at the doctorโs office, acting as their translator. I didnโt just carry words from one language to anotherโI carried meaning, nuance, and care.
Years later, when I underwent a surgery, I experienced what it feels like to be vulnerable inside a system that can feel overwhelming. What stayed with me wasnโt just the medicine, but the empathy of the people who cared for meโtheir ability to explain the complex with clarity and compassion. Healthcare, I realized, is a lot like design: itโs about understanding human needs, meeting people where they are, and building systems that support them through uncertainty. That experience sparked my fascination with psychology, neuroscience, and healthcare, and gave me a deeper sense of purpose in my design work.
Design is where these threads converge. Itโs my way of honoring the stories we carryโhow we communicate, how we heal, how we connect. My work is shaped by empathy for the invisible struggles people face, and by a curiosity about how thoughtful technology can meet human needs with care.
Now, I'm studying Design Media Arts & Cognitive Science at UCLA. My experience spans healthcare platforms, AI-powered products, and scalable design systems, all with a focus on making technology feel more intuitive and human.
